For a while, I've been wanting to really push the gaudiness of my art beyond the boundaries. I think it's fair to say that I play it relatively by the book when it comes to colour, but sometimes I just want to chuck a big bag of sleaze in there.
Also, I enjoy playing with simple shapes. One of my recent images was created using only squares. It was meant as an experiment and in some respects I quite liked it, certainly enough to develop that kind of approach.
Last night, after watching the hideous dance-off clips from Star Wars Kinect (I provide no link, but trust me, it's better you don't watch it), somehow the urge to draw animals hit me. Maybe it was because nature and wildlife are as far from the aforementioned nadir of existence as my brain could imagine. It was probably a coping mechanism. In any case, it resulted in four sketches which I then assembled and recreated using only vector squares. The colours... I think you're supposed to hate them. I trust that you do.
